Sham marriages for money and such

Three marines are being charged in California for entering into sham marriages simply to collect housing funds.

Started by a lesbian marine and her civilian partner, males were found, and married, so funds only offered to married couples could be collected.  In this case, the term marriage is only being applied to the bonding between a man and a woman.

Even after the military officially drops its ban against openly gay or lesbian members, same-sex couples, even if married, would still not be eligible because of a federal law defining marriage only as between a man and a woman.

It's breaking the law, but as a result of necessity, as they couldn't afford housing costs otherwise.
